If you've had a support worker rush through a shower, skip half the housework, or show up as a total stranger with no idea about your routine, you know how draining that gets. Disability care shouldn't feel like a transaction. It should feel like someone's actually got your back.
That's the whole idea behind how we run disability care at Nobel Ability. You get a consistent worker (or two, if your schedule needs it), a plan built around your actual day, and a coordinator who checks in instead of disappearing after the first week.
What's included
- Personal care: showering, dressing, grooming, mobility support
- Meal preparation and help with eating, including dietary needs
- Domestic assistance: laundry, cleaning, tidying
- Lawn mowing and basic garden upkeep, where it's tied to your disability
- Community access: getting out to appointments, errands, or just for a walk
- Overnight and 24-hour support, where your plan covers it
Lawn mowing sits under Household Tasks, and the NDIA is specific about when it's actually funded: it has to be something you can't do yourself because of your disability, not just general upkeep. It also doesn't stretch to landscaping (new turf, garden beds, that kind of thing) or the cost of materials like mulch and fertiliser. If you're not sure whether your situation qualifies, ask us and we'll give you a straight answer rather than a maybe.
How we match you with a worker
Before anything starts, you meet the person who'll actually be supporting you. If it feels right, we lock in the schedule. If it doesn't, you tell us and we try again. No hard feelings, no awkward calls required. Most participants stay with the same one or two workers for years, which is exactly the point: less re-explaining, more actual support.
Funding and getting started
Disability care sits under Core Supports in your NDIS plan, which is usually the most flexible category to work with. If you're not sure how much you've got left or what it covers, our support coordination team can walk through your plan with you. Most people don't realise how much flexibility they actually have until someone explains it properly.
